A Regular Life

For the past three months, I’ve been spending my weekdays very regularly.

I wake up at 7 a.m., exercise, wash up, eat, and tidy up the house. Around 9 a.m., I take the subway to work. I work for a long while, leave the office around 11 p.m., and go to sleep.

A regular life helps conserve energy. I live in a way where the energy I charge up once when I wake up in the morning gets used continuously throughout the afternoon. In the morning, I handle important tasks that require a lot of energy, and once I’ve used up my energy in the afternoon and at night, I do simple tasks.

But if there are a lot of irregular things happening from the morning, my energy gets depleted right away. Doing things automatically as programmed into my body and doing things by thinking about and deciding what to do are on completely different levels of burden.

Since the strengths of a routine are so clear, I want to maintain this lifestyle for the time being.

My routine has been broken for the past two days, and feeling regretful about it, I’m writing this to resolve once again to get back on track.
