Pure Fun, Obligation, and Addiction
There are three reasons for doing something: because it’s fun, because you have to, or because you’re addicted to it.
You start watching a Netflix series purely because it’s fun, but as it goes on, you keep watching because you want to finish it. Most of the time, you use social media because you’re addicted to it.
Looking back over the course of a whole week, there aren’t many things I do purely because they’re fun—most of what I do seems to be either out of addiction or obligation. Fun and the desire to do something are precious. I want to have more fun.
