Cutlery

When I go to a restaurant, I tend to look closely at the cutlery. I especially love restaurants that use well-made, pretty cutlery from unique brands. Alta Cucina near my office is one of those places. Down to the unique cutlery, dishes, and even the water glasses, the details are alive.

Thinking about it, when I go to a restaurant, I seem to pay a lot of attention not just to the food but to all the other details as well. Is the bathroom clean? What hand wash product do they use? The craftsmanship of the interior and the menu. The colors and typography of the signage. The spacing between tables and the level of noise. The quality of service and the waiting experience. These may seem like small things, but I believe they’re the parts that shape the overall impression of a restaurant.

If I had to describe myself, I’m someone who eats pretty much anything and has a fairly low threshold for what I can tolerate… but I still know and pursue what’s better made. I can adapt to accommodate others, but within my limited life and time, I want to discover and experience more fun and better things.

In that sense, Alta Cucina—where the food is delicious and the details are well taken care of—is truly a great restaurant.
