1. MacBook Pro 14 2021 Model
- A computer I’ve been happily using for five years now. It’s the M1 Max model.
- I made a significant investment when I bought it, but the speed is still more than sufficient, so I’ll probably use it for at least another three years.
- I remember when the first M1 Mac hit the market. Apps used to take a good 2–3 seconds to launch, but now they open in the blink of an eye — and the performance is still just as fast.
- It’s fast for coding and fast for video editing in Final Cut Pro.
- The screen is 14 inches, but it doesn’t feel particularly small.
- The weight is just about manageable for carrying around, though I do wish it were a little lighter.
- If I buy a new computer next time, I’d probably go for a MacBook Air 13-inch model. Weight seems more important to me than performance.
2. LG UltraFine 4K (24-inch)
- A monitor that’s been around for a while, but one I’m getting great use out of.
- The image quality is excellent, and connecting via USB-C handles everything at once — great connectivity, and it practically doubles as a Thunderbolt dock.
- You can also connect an iPad or iPhone to it.
- The desk looks incredibly clean.
- It’s a bit on the smaller side, but since I’ve never really wanted a large monitor, it’s not a significant drawback for me.
3. MX Keys Mini
- The keyboard I use when working outside.
- It can connect to up to three devices, which makes it very versatile.
- The key travel is deep, so the typing feel is great.
- Charging via USB-C is convenient.
- The default layout is a Windows layout, which makes it a bit awkward to use on a Mac.
- It’s slightly heavy to just carry around, but still manageable.
- I originally used the lighter MX Keys to Go, but it broke down too frequently.
4. MX Anywhere 3S
- The mouse I use when working outside.
- It’s a quiet-click model, so I can use it discreetly.
- Small and easy to carry around.
- Charges via USB-C and the battery lasts a long time.
5. iPhone 16 Pro
6. iPad Mini (A17 Pro Model)
- The iPad I use for reading books and taking notes.
- It’s small, making it extremely portable.
- With a cellular connection, it’s convenient to use on the go — on the subway, for example.
- It’s also just the right size for watching movies while lying in bed.
- Easy to carry around for taking notes in meetings.
- The screen is a bit small for serious work, which can be inconvenient.
- The speakers aren’t great. Not exactly a pleasure to listen to.
7. iPad Pro 12.9 (2018 Model)
- The iPad I’ve been using at home for seven years — for watching Netflix, YouTube, and drawing.
- The screen is so expansive that actual work is possible on it, setting aside the general question of iPad productivity.
- It’s starting to lag a little, but I have no major complaints about the performance.
8. Herman Miller Oripura
- The laptop stand I use when working outside.
- When folded, it’s the size of a standard clear file folder, making it very easy to carry around.
- It’s lightweight, so carrying it around is no burden at all.
- Being foldable, it’s easy to set up.
- Once set up, it’s extremely stable.
