Boccalino

I love authentic Italian cuisine. I’ve pretty much tried all the good Italian restaurants near Yeoksam, like Nyeok and Gianni’s Napoli.

While browsing a news article by chance, I saw that a restaurant called Boccalino had gotten great reviews from actual Italians, so I got curious and decided to visit.

I went during the day, and the atmosphere was really nice. The ceilings were high and the sunlight came in well. The tables were also spaced far apart, which made it good for conversation.

There’s a “Make your own course” option for two people, where you can put together your own course consisting of an appetizer, pasta, and a main dish. Drinks and dessert are then provided as a complimentary service.

The carbonara made with real egg yolks and the handmade tiramisu were both impressive. I want to eat them again.

I’m not sure if this is the right thing to say about an Italian restaurant in a hotel, but the value for money was quite good.

To be able to enjoy food and a space of this quality for about 50,000–60,000 won per person… There are plenty of cases where you pay even more and still end up with an uncomfortable space or unsatisfying food.
