Sokcho
August 2025.
The weather was scorching, so I took a trip to Sokcho to beat the heat.
Sokcho is a place that reveals something new to love every time I visit. On a clear evening, I spread out a mat at Sokcho Beach and lay there gazing up at the sky — it was nothing short of paradise. A cool breeze and the distant sound of waves washing in made it all feel wonderfully peaceful and restorative.
On the way back, I stopped by Solhaeone in Yangyang, and the experience was fantastic. The building is beautifully designed, and the spa facilities were clean and well-maintained. What stands out most in my memory is swimming in the infinity pool while gazing out at the lush green mountains.
I also rode the Seoraksan cable car for the first time — the ease of ascending the mountain that way was simply unbeatable. The summit was admittedly packed with people, but… the view of the East Sea coastline from the top of Seoraksan was absolutely breathtaking.
